Allow the spectacular to infuse your senses. Stop and smell the sunflowers. Take advice from a friend. Pray for your friends. Walk the dog(s). Stop and take a breath, because though life isn’t easy finding little joy breaks is.
The act of living can be full of joy. My dog Charlie shows me this on a daily basis. People around me show me that it may not always be easy but living is worth it. The act of living must be acted on. There is no other way, so find joy in it.
You are in time out! No kid ever wants to hear those words, and you will be hard pressed to find an adult who would not cherish those words. It’s funny how age changes our perspective.
Take a walk, ride a bike, do a workout routine, read a book, write a book. What is it that makes you feel alive? When we take the time to say “I’ll be back in a little while” and we proceed to do something beneficial for our wellbeing it’s worth it.
Once upon a time life was simpler but not easier. We had less of the world and more time to ourselves. As kids the most important thing to do was to not get caught being bored. What a joy today to chose a simpler path, unplug and find what’s important.
Are you brave enough to live? Are you bold in who you are but humble enough not to rub it in people’s faces? This is a choice that people have to make: let fear rule or chose to walk by it and keep going towards what makes you shine.
Are you a morning person? Do you wake up and survive the day or look for ways to enjoy it? Mornings bring a sense of purpose and wonder (after coffee/caffeine). They bring joy and hope for the day ahead. Open your eyes and embrace the start of the day
We were made to dream, made to hope, made to live our lives. How sad it would be not to use the gifts and talents we were given. Trying something different and new is how we grow and stretch the person we were made to be.
Sometimes it is just more fun to let things just fall into place. Have an impromptu water balloon fight, eat ice cream before dinner, run around barefoot. Adulting is hard, heck being a human is hard, so why not let go and be a kid sometimes.
Our environments say a lot about who we are. Our “heart environments” do as well. How awesome would it be if what we exude into the world brings joy, happiness and love?
