Helping Pets & Encouraging People
Ok so Luke Skywalker probably got the raw end of the deal, with having Darth Vader as his daddy but you have to admit he still learned a lot from the guy. Or what about Bobby from King of the Hill, man if he doesn’t watch it he’ll be selling propane and propane accessories, but if you have ever watched any of the episodes you would see that Bobby and his dad really did love each other, and Hank was always there for his boy. One of my favorite television dads is Mike Baxter from Last Man Standing. This guy loves his family but will put them in their place and stand up for what he believes in even if he is the only one doing it, and to top it off Mike Baxter is pretty funny.
Father’s Day is coming up soon, actually in 3 days, and for most of us getting that special gift for our dads is next to impossible since we usually never know what to get. So instead of getting my dad something that he probably doesn’t even need I will honor him by saying this: My dad may not have been perfect but he worked hard, he provided for his family, he loves the Lord, he taught us to always be responsible and to work hard. He loves to camp, he loves basketball, and he loves chess and computer games. My dad made us feel secure and loved, we wanted to make him happy and he was proud of his kids and still is. My dad made me want to be a better person.
What’s even better is now my kids have the same kind of dad. He does everything my dad did for me for our kids and I can say I love him so much for it. With that being said, my hubby is quite the weird guy who has no problem making himself stand out in the crowd in unique ways, flamingo jumpsuits, blow up dinosaur costumes that he chases the kids with, letting the kids color his head (he shaves his head bald) for crazy hair day, you get the idea. So in honor of dads who are a little bit dorky, a little bit weird but a whole lot of fun I give you the ultimate list of dad jokes that you can use anytime you want (but really only on father’s day….wink, wink)
And lastly:
I hope you got a little laugh out of these jokes and maybe even shared them with your dad. Mostly I hope that if you have a chance this Sunday tell your dad how much you appreciate and love him. Being a parent isn’t easy, so lets celebrate the dads that are there for us and taught us most of what we know, even if it meant he had to be weird to do it. I love you Tim, and I hope you know that you are an awesome dad. Until next time:
One night a father overheard his son pray, “Dear God make me the kind of man my daddy is” Later that night the father prayed, “Dear God make me the kind of man my son wants me to be”
